Advance SC750 and SC800 Poor Water Pickup or No Solution Flow: Safe Checks

ADVANCE SC750 / SC800 TROUBLESHOOTING · NORTH AMERICA · REVIEWED SEPTEMBER 24, 2026

Home / Troubleshooting / Advance SC750 water symptoms

Quick answer: If an Advance SC750 or SC800 leaves water behind, the operator manual points to the squeegee blades and adjustment, recovery-tank level and sealing, debris in the squeegee, a clogged vacuum hose, excessive solution flow or an incorrectly seated foam-filter cover. If solution flow is weak or absent, check the tank level, shutoff valve, filter and accessible lines before requesting service.

Why is an Advance SC750 leaving water behind?

Advance’s general troubleshooting table lists worn or torn squeegee blades, incorrect squeegee adjustment, a full recovery tank, leakage at the recovery-tank drain hose or cover gasket, debris caught in the squeegee, a clogged vacuum hose, excessive solution flow and an incorrectly seated foam-filter cover as possible causes of poor water pickup.

Safe operator checks

  1. Park on a level surface, turn the key switch off and remove the key.
  2. Check whether the recovery tank is full and drain it using the manufacturer’s procedure.
  3. Confirm that the recovery-tank drain-hose cap and tank cover are properly seated.
  4. Inspect accessible squeegee edges for visible wear, tears and trapped debris.
  5. Confirm that the recovery hose is attached and not visibly kinked or blocked.
  6. Check whether the solution-flow setting is higher than required for the floor condition.

Do not open electrical compartments or operate the vacuum system with guards removed. If the vacuum motor does not run, the machine repeatedly reports a tank-full condition, or pickup remains poor after operator-level checks, refer the unit to trained service personnel.

Why does an Advance SC750 have little or no solution flow?

The same official troubleshooting table identifies an empty solution tank, clogged solution lines, valves, filter or trough, a closed solution shutoff valve and a solution-solenoid problem. Start with observations that do not require disassembly.

What to observe Documented possibility Safe next step
Tank-level indicator or visible tank level Solution tank empty Fill with the correct solution and follow chemical dilution instructions.
Shutoff-valve position Solution shutoff valve closed Place the operator-accessible valve in the operating position described by the manual.
Accessible filter condition Filter or flow path restricted Clean only the operator-serviceable filter and accessible areas specified by the manual.
Flow still absent after basic checks Internal blockage or solenoid fault Stop diagnosis and use an authorized or qualified service technician.

Why does the recovery-tank-full indicator appear when the tank is not full?

The manual associates this symptom with a plugged squeegee hose or vacuuming a large amount of water at high travel speed. Clear only accessible debris with the machine safely shut down. Reduce travel speed when recovering heavy water. Any adjustment to the automatic shutoff feature belongs in service documentation and should be handled by qualified personnel.

What should be recorded before requesting repair?

  • Exact model and model number from the nameplate.
  • Serial number and scrub-deck type: disc, cylindrical or REV.
  • Whether the wet trail is across the full squeegee width or only one side.
  • Whether the vacuum motor is audible.
  • Whether the recovery-tank-full or battery-low indicator is illuminated.
  • Whether solution flow is absent at every setting or only becomes weak during scrubbing.
Safety notice: This page summarizes operator-level checks from the manufacturer’s instructions. Battery, motor, controller, solenoid, wiring and internal vacuum-system work must be performed by qualified personnel. Never bypass a safety device or test energized components.

Who prepares this reference?

Prepared by CleanEquip Pro Editorial. We organize manufacturer documentation into model-specific references and distinguish documented information from unverified observations.

This article does not represent an on-machine inspection or a certified technician’s review. Follow the applicable manufacturer manual and refer electrical, battery and other service work to qualified personnel.

Evidence and applicability

Scope and exclusions: Limited to the SC750/SC800 and ST model numbers on the cover. Match the full model number and deck; REV and cylindrical options have separate entries. Serial coverage and later revisions are unconfirmed.

Field evidence: No first-hand inspection, technician review or measured cause-frequency dataset is documented for this article. The reporting checklist is editorial guidance, not field evidence. A reader report remains unverified until checked.

Operator and service boundary

Operator observations: Record tank level, wet-trail pattern, indicator state and visible hose/squeegee condition with the machine safely stopped. Observe only with the machine stopped and secured as its manual requires. Key-off alone does not electrically isolate a battery machine. Before touching or cleaning components, follow the manual’s isolation procedure; if untrained, stop at recording observations.

Stop and call a qualified technician if: The vacuum motor does not run, a false tank-full warning recurs, or flow/pickup remains poor after permitted routine care.

Never: bypass interlocks, remove protective guards for testing, probe live wiring or repeat resets to keep an unresolved fault running. Follow the applicable battery/charger ventilation instructions; this page does not authorize battery work.
